As part of its efforts to build the capacity of civil society organizations (CSOs) for advocacy and social accountability in Hirshabelle State, Somali Peace Line (SPL) conducted a 2-day consultation and validation workshop with CSOs, line ministries, and key stakeholders on the Hirshabelle State FGM Bill. The workshop was held in Jowhar, the capital city of Hirshabelle State, Somalia.
The primary purpose of the workshop was to consult with and validate the bill among various stakeholders. Throughout the two days, participants engaged in discussions about the components of the Hirshabelle State FGM Bill, exploring its significance for the community.
By the end of the meeting, participants reached a consensus on the importance of protecting young girls in Hirshabelle State through the implementation of the FGM Bill.
Their discussions resulted in valuable suggestions and ideas that will contribute to the revision of the Hirshabelle State FGM Bill.
