Capacity building training for school staff in Bergadid, Jawiil, Beledweyn, and Mataban

Capacity building training for school staff in Bergadid, Jawiil, Beledweyn, and Mataban

With funding from Norad and in partnership with Save the Children Somalia, Somali Peace Line conducted capacity-building trainings for school staff in Bergadid, Jawiil, Beledweyn, and Mataban.
The training sessions brought together school management teams, teachers, and Community Education Committee (CEC) members to strengthen child protection practices within schools and communities.
Participants received comprehensive training on the teachers’ code of conduct, emphasizing professional ethics, accountability, and the responsibility of educators to maintain safe and supportive learning environments. The sessions also focused on child protection principles, helping participants understand the rights of children and the importance of safeguarding them from all forms of abuse, exploitation, and neglect.
In addition, school staff and CEC members were equipped with practical skills to identify signs of child abuse and respond appropriately through established referral and reporting mechanisms.
This initiative reflects the shared commitment of Norad, Save the Children Somalia, and Somali Peace Line to ensure that schools remain safe spaces where every child can learn, grow, and reach their full potential.
