The organizational philosophy of Somali Peace Line (SPL) is deeply rooted in a profound commitment to fostering understanding, self-awareness, and unity within Somali society. The core tenet of SPL’s philosophy is encapsulated in the following principle:
“Whoever intercedes in a good cause becomes a partner therein: and whoever recommends and helps an evil cause shares in its burden: And Allah hath power over all things (Koran 4:85).”
This guiding principle underscores the belief that individuals and organizations bear a shared responsibility in influencing the outcomes of their actions. By supporting virtuous causes and advocating for what is good and just, individuals become active participants in the positive impact and eventual success of those endeavors. Conversely, by associating with and endorsing harmful causes, individuals inevitably shoulder the burden of the negative consequences that arise.
In alignment with this philosophy, SPL advocates for the promotion of good causes, the advancement of peace and justice, and the empowerment of communities. By upholding ethical standards and standing for what is right, SPL aspires to contribute positively to society and share in the collective credit and successes that result from supporting noble endeavors. Through this ethical framework, SPL aims to inspire positive change, foster unity, and uphold the values of compassion, integrity, and social responsibility within the Somali community and beyond.
