SPL, in partnership with Save the Children Somalia, conducted child protection awareness sessions for Child Champion students at Sigalow, Bulsha Deeq, Agabaruur, and Hawa Tako schools in Beledweyne. The initiative aimed to prevent and respond to child abuse and other protection risks affecting schoolchildren by strengthening their knowledge of child rights and reporting pathways.
During the interactive sessions, students learned how to recognize signs of child protection concerns, understand the importance of reporting abuse, and safely raise concerns using suggestion boxes installed in their schools. These activities empowered students to take an active role in creating a safe, supportive learning environment for themselves and their peers.
SPL remains committed to working with partners to strengthen child protection systems and ensure every child has access to a safe, inclusive, and protective school environment. Through continuous awareness and community engagement, we strive to empower children to speak up and seek support whenever they face protection risks.
