As part of the Norad Project, Somali Peace Line successfully facilitated structured and inclusive group sessions for 120 children aged 10–13 years. These sessions were designed to strengthen life skills, build confidence, and raise awareness around protection, safety, and positive peer behavior.
Children with disabilities were fully included and supported through tailored facilitation, ensuring meaningful participation and equal access to all activities.
The sessions provided a safe and engaging environment for learning and self-expression, with emphasis on:
– Strengthening communication, teamwork, and conflict-resolution skills
– Enhancing understanding of child rights, protection risks, and safe behaviors
– Promoting emotional regulation, self-esteem, and confidence
– Fostering positive peer interactions and respectful relationships
– Offering a safe space for children to share experiences and concerns
The initiative contributed to improved psychosocial well-being and increased child participation. Notably, girls who formed the majority of participants showed strong engagement and active involvement throughout the sessions.
