In September 2025, with support from LPI and funding from UNPBF SPL, in collaboration with PDF, held a Monthly Reflection Meeting in Galkayo, Mudug region. This gathering served as a follow-up engagement to assess the implementation of the September Structured Dialogue sessions. It also provided a valuable platform to review progress, share facilitation experiences, and strategize improvements for future dialogues.
A total of 40 facilitators (20 male and 20 female), representing 20 Sustained Dialogue groups, participated in the event. Moderators from both North and South Galkayo shared insights from the September sessions, focusing on youth participation, facilitation techniques, and approaches to navigating sensitive political discussions.
Participants reflected on the positive impact of Sustained Dialogues in empowering youth with civic awareness and creating safe spaces for open discussions on local governance, peacebuilding, and community inclusion. Moderators emphasized the importance of neutral venues to ensure fairness and inclusivity and highlighted the need to simplify political concepts for youth with limited civic knowledge to foster deeper engagement and understanding.
