In April 2025, Somali Peace Line (SPL), with support from the Safe-Steps project, delivered essential protection and dignity-promoting materials to crisis-affected women and girls in targeted communities in Galkayo.
This initiative aimed to uphold the rights, well-being, and resilience of marginalized populations, particularly women and girls, by ensuring access to critical resources that support their physical and emotional welfare. The project contributes to the protection and safety of vulnerable groups, especially those affected by displacement and other crises.
A total of 245 individuals (180 women and 65 girls) benefited from the distribution of tailored materials designed to address their specific needs. These included:
– Psychosocial Support (PSS) Materials to aid mental health and emotional well-being.
– Dignity Materials that promote self-respect and personal safety.
– Protection Materials focused on addressing vulnerabilities and fostering resilience.
The delivery of these materials significantly improved beneficiaries’ access to essential services, reduced stress, and enhanced their overall quality of life. It also strengthened community awareness around personal care and well-being, contributing to broader objectives of protection, inclusion, and resilience building.
