SPL has organized and conducted Innovate school-based awareness creation among school children on Disaster Risk Reduction in Mogadishu, Banadir region of Somalia. The main purpose of this awareness was to enable school children, to get more knowledge about the common disasters in their community and around the schools andto fully understand their roles and responsibilities in their society, to provide an overview of the DRR management to the community so as to play vital roles in the reduction of the hazards both the Natural and man-made disasters using the knowledge learnt from the awareness in different criteria for the developments of their districts, and to raise awareness on the impacts of those disasters i.e. introduction to fire ,causes of fire ,the negative implications of fire ,and finally fire mitigation ,fire prevention and fighting/extinguishing, droughts measure put in place like environmental conservation by planting more trees in order to limit the risks .

Organizational Philosophy
SPL is committed to persuade the Somali society to be amenable to understand themselves and their nature, their potentials and limitations, their place in the universe and relationships with each other and with whole mankind.
Organizational Structure
The General Assembly is the highest body of SPL. It has a governing body, which comprises a chairman, programme manager, Admin and finance manager and project managers that mobilizes the required resources and ensures effective management of the organization.
